Watson Pharmaceuticals Recalls Fentanyl Transdermal Patches

Fentanyl Transdermal Patches sold in the United States between January and March 2008 are being recalled by Watson Pharmaceuticals due to a defect in the patch manufacturing. Patches affected by the recall are of the 75 mcg/hr variety with an expiration date of August 31, 2009 and lot number 92461850; no other lots are affected by this recall.

The recall comes after discovery of patches leaking fentanyl gel. Direct contact with the gel can lead to serious medical events including respiratory depression and overdose, which may be fatal.

If you or someone you know uses these patches please check the box or foil pouch for the lot number and expiration date. If your patches are affected by the recall do not handle the patches directly and dispose of any open or used patches by flushing them down the toilet. If you do come into direct contact with the patch, wash your hands immediately with no soap but plenty of water.

If you believe you or a loved one has been affected by this recall, Fentanyl patches or any other drug please contact us today to speak with an experienced attorney who will enable you or a loved one to seek compensation.
