The very credible threat of punitive damages in this case was an impetus for an early settlement.

Nancy, Stewart Eisenberg, and Dan Sherry, Jr., secured a confidential, nearly eight-figure settlement in a defective tire case in which the tire caused a commercial vehicle to crash, resulting in the death of a young single man.

Education and Personal Injury Law Experience
Nancy attended the Honors Program at Temple University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, in English and Economics. She then earned her Juris Doctor degree from Temple University School of Law, with an Award for Excellence in Civil Trial Advocacy.
Since then, Nancy has served on the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association and as the Association’s President from 2013 to 2014. She has also served on the Board of Governors of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice for many years and has been active in the Philadelphia Bar Association, appointed Co-Chair for the Medical-Legal Committee for 2004. Through the years, she has investigated many judicial candidates for the Commission for Judicial Selection and Retention.
As a shareholder at Eisenberg, Winkler, Jeck, Schwartz, Schoenhaus & Sherry, Nancy concentrates her practice on catastrophic, life-altering injury cases. These include medical malpractice, auto defects, product liability, trucking accidents, construction accidents, dram shop liability, and premises liability cases, including unsafe swimming pools. She also represents clients in sexual and physical abuse cases; child abuse cases; cases in which children are subjected to abuse in foster care, behavioral health facilities, and/or reform schools; and civil rights cases.
Nancy understands that every client and family who comes into her office has suffered trauma and a devastating loss. While she cannot undo the trauma and losses our clients have suffered, by securing favorable settlements and verdicts in their cases, Nancy strives to obtain justice for them.
Through her work, Nancy has influenced companies in various industries to be more safety-conscious and to implement and adhere to more rigid safety standards.
Nancy values a team approach and hard work. She and her team investigate each case thoroughly, leaving no stone unturned, treating her clients with respect and compassion, and working to help put families’ lives back together as much as possible after a catastrophic event.
Charitable Work and Community Activism
In addition to her other responsibilities, Nancy believes in giving back to the community. She lectures for various groups and organizations, including lawyers, doctors, nurses and healthcare workers. She has written articles and book chapters and lectured at seminars on topics including civil litigation, defective products, professional negligence and automobile law.
Additionally, she has been active in charitable organizations, including The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, where she serves as a board member of the organization’s Delaware Valley chapter, and the South Philadelphia Community Fridge, a community-centered, volunteer-based organization based in South Philadelphia, dedicated to giving all Philadelphians access to fresh and healthy food. Nancy has also taken on many pro bono cases throughout the years to represent those who could not otherwise afford an attorney.
